Gregg is busy napping, so this week’s post is written by Eriko!

Hello!

I'm Eriko!

It's hot every day, so don't you want something cold and delicious to eat?

I do!

My family often sends us packages: meat, coffee, Japanese sweets, fruits, etc.

This time, they sent us some fancy jellies!

(Note from Gregg: in America, we call all gelatin Jello. In Japan, my wife calls it “jelly.” So she’s referring to gelatin sweets here, not jars of jam. Now back to your regularly-scheduled programming.)

This box says the name of a popular Japanese specialty fruit store: Ginza Sembikiya!

The flavors

Jelly is one of Eriko's favorite foods!

This box had mango, blueberry, la france, cherry, and grapefruit jellies.

(Note from Gregg: also kiwi. She forgot kiwi.)

Big pieces of fruit!

There were many, so we tried one a day.

Now let's take a look at these delicious jellies!

They all had big pieces of fruit in them. Here’s what I thought of each:

Mango

Yes, delicious! Tastes like real mango. So juicy! I feel it is summer taste!

(Note from Gregg: to call it an explosion of flavor is not enough. Someone has taken the flavor of every mango I've ever eaten and crammed them all into a tiny cup, condensed those dozens of mangoes into a single taste that bursts, sings, lifts up your tastebuds and drops them back down into the post-coital bliss of a first love. Even if you don't like mango, you will like this.)

Blueberry

Wow!! Blueberry is our No.1! We don't see blueberry jelly so much, but this is good taste! The chunks on the bottom are the perfect size and consistency!

La France

La France jelly is another one we don’t see very often. La France is a pear taste. The chunks are a bit too big and hard compared to the jelly, but it tastes good!

Cherry

Cherry is okay! Cherry taste is difficult to recreate in artificial form, and the cherry chunks have stems and pits in them. This is okay!

Grapefruit

Light taste, a little bitter like real grapefruit! Gregg didn’t like this one so much, but Eriko did!

Kiwi

(Note from Gregg: she forgot kiwi. It was good. #2 behind blueberry.)

The verdict

All of these jellies have a good amount of fruit chunks at the bottom! We enjoyed these delicious jellies!

15/10 for Ginza sembikiya fruits jellies!!
