Konbini Kinyoubi: BTS Coffee from FamilyMart

Welcome to Konbini Kinyoubi, where every Friday (Kinyoubi) we visit our local convenience store (Konbini) and buy something delicious. This post contains affiliate links. For more information, please read our affiliate disclosure.

Around here, we love coffee and we love the konbini, so when there’s a new coffee drink on the market, we’re usually aware of it.

This morning, as it was ten billion degrees by 8:30 AM (usual for this time of year in Japan) and we were already drenched in sweat, we took a respite inside a Kobe FamilyMart. There, Eriko discovered a product heretofore unforeseen:

The BTS latte

That’s right folks, it’s a bottled latte branded for BTS, the Korean boy group that has taken over this planet Earth upon which we live.

Note the price. It’s 550 yen, or around $5. That’s very expensive for a bottled latte. But if you’re a teenager desperate to define your existence through allegiance to a strand of pop culture, five bucks isn’t that much.

How does it taste?

I don’t know. I’m not spending 5 bucks on a bottled latte. But if you want this collector’s item, there are actually quite a few options out there.

Otherwise, feel free to buy some other BTS stuff off Amazon. They… put their name on a lot of stuff.
