Konbini Kinyoubi: Mille-Feuille and Chocolate Drink

Welcome to Konbini Kinyoubi, where every Friday (Kinyoubi) we visit our local convenience store (Konbini) and buy something delicious. This post contains affiliate links. For more information, please read our affiliate disclosure.

Hello!

This is Eriko!

First, I must apologize, because you have to read Eriko's English. Gregg got injured so he couldn't write this week. (He is okay now! Don't worry!) I'm his wife and I'm responsible for him and our blog, so I try to be author instead of Gregg today!

I like Friday (Kinyoubi) because we can try some treats at the konbini.

Today, I got one of my favorite treats!

He says, “Buy me!”

He says, “Buy me!”

7-11 has these amazing mille-feuille cookies.

The first time I saw these, my husband was eating them. So I asked him "Can I have some?" and he gave me one.

His decision is always right.

(No, sometimes he can have wrong choice like Yakichee and Sarachee. You can go back and look. Hehe!)

Oishii!

Oishii!

This mille-feuille is perfect. Good size, good balance of chocolate and cream, and the wafers are as light as air. These are excellent.

They are packaged individually, so you can save some for few days.

Six friends!

Six friends!

But don’t blame me if you eat it all in one day.

(I can eat all in one day!)

I think this is 15/10 always!

Citrus Cacao! Contains no milk!

Citrus Cacao! Contains no milk!

I got this chocolate drink too.

It says "CITRUS CACAO."

What is Citrus Cacao?

I thought, it looks very fancy and maybe I should try it.

It was a mistake.

I regretted getting it.

It's difficult to describe this taste but I try:

It’s made by a chocolate specialty store.

It is a mix of fresh cacao and tropical fruits, and then it is fermented in a special way.

Cacao meets orange and lime flavor.

But I didn't feel the orange and lime flavor unfortunately. I felt complicated taste.

In Japan, many drinks come with a little straw like this!

I tried again.

Mmmmm... I felt something like an orange flavor, but...

I realized it's too early for me. This chocolate drink is for more fancy person. Not for Eriko!

(Note from Gregg: this is Japanese politeness. She doesn’t want to say it’s bad, so she’s saying maybe it’s too fancy for her. But she means she didn’t like it.)

Usually I like to drink tea and juice.

If Gregg will not be able to write blog next time, I'll try to show you my favorite tea or juice maybe!

I hope Gregg will come back to our blog soon!

Thank you for reading all the way through!
